Amite City Mayor
Mayor Walter Daniels, lll
As we move into 2025 and my second term as Mayor of the Town of Amite, I will continue to lead our team as we move Amite forward.
If you are new to our town and our website, let me introduce myself. I am a lifelong resident of our town.
I attended Amite area schools, served as a town council member, as a school board member, a police officer
and worked as Transportation Field Coordinator for the Tangipahoa Parish School System. I am a member of Butler AME Zion Church where I am a member of the choir and serve on the Trustee Board.
We have several projects that are in process.
- Regional Wastewater Sewer Treatment Facility
- West Mulberry Street Extension
- Renovations of City Hall
- New police station
- Renovations of downtown sidewalks
- Connection road from Hwy 16 West to Arena Road
- Renovation/update of Fleet Easley Park
- Improvements at Butler Town Park
- Annexation
- Drive by water meters and state of the art software
- A new city barn
Our team is working hard to move these projects and others forward.
My office is always open to the citizens of our great town. If you have a question, concern or idea, my door
is open.
Let us all work together to “Move Amite Forward.”
