To apply for water, sewer and garbage services, the deposit for a resident inside the city limits is $125.00. Customers residing outside the city limits pay a deposit of $250.00. Deposits for small commercial customers inside the city limits is $150, $250 for small businesses located outside the city limits. The deposit for large commercial customers, both inside and outside the city limits will be equal to two times the monthly fee for water, garbage and sewer services.
To apply for services, applicants must come to City Hall and bring a picture ID and their social security number, or an employer tax identification number.
Residents applying for water, sewer and garbage services can apply for an electrical permit at the same time. The electrical permit is required before Entergy will connect utilities. The fee for an electrical permit is $10, unless it is new construction, then the permit is $30.00. To apply for electrical services, customers can call 1-800-ENTERGY.
Also, new businesses apply for their occupational licenses at the same time they apply for an electrical permit and water, sewer and garbage services. The fee for a new business for the first year is $50.00 If the business is selling food, they must have an approval letter from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals before the Town can issue the occupational license.
